Zen Buddhist Master Taisen Deshimaru Roshi Sculpture / Bust 1960's ‘C’ France Purchased by myself from a dealer in France who visited old houses in France, purchasing Antiques. He tried to find out more about this, but couldn’t. Only information I could get was that it was purchased in France, by the previous owner, in the 1960’s. As you probably know, if you are reading this, Deshimaru spent decades of his later life in France. There is a ‘C’ on the rear, in the clay, which was there before firing. Excellent detail, 1 and a 1/2 times life size, roughly. Beautiful item. I have owned this for around 10 years. In excellent, near perfect, antique condition. No damage or defects to mention. Fairly heavy, probably 5+kg. Please have a good look at the photos. Message for more details. Collection preferred. Will post, fully insured, for £25.
